Description
This three-century-old home has seen members of two families grow up within its walls. The original owners, the Bilodeau family, lived here for several generations. Behind the house, you can still see Émile's barn, the last occupant of the Bilodeau lineage. In 1965, following the opening of the Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort, the Éthier family became the new owners.
In the early 1980s, Gilles, the eldest son of the Éthier family, transformed the family home into a tourist residence for short-term rentals. Visitors now have the opportunity to discover this home and immerse themselves in its rich, story-filled past.
The lime-coated stone walls of this Norman-style house help it withstand the harsh Quebec winters. The roof is steeper than those of traditional French homes, and the extended cornices help prevent the buildup of ice and snow.
The gallery, located beneath the cornices, offers the perfect spot to relax and enjoy summer evenings outdoors—just as the Bilodeau and Éthier families once did.
Echoes of the home's ancestral past can be seen in its many fieldstone walls, wood paneling, exposed beams, and fireplace, all of which complete the setting.
The Bilodeau-Éthier house is perfectly suited for groups of up to 13 guests. The total floor area is 2,000 sq. ft. (186 m²).
