General rental conditions
1. Booking conditions
Payment by card. If you book with a credit card, payments will automatically be taken from the card on file on the scheduled dates. You are responsible for notifying us if your card or payment information changes.
Unpaid balance. Any balance not paid when due results in the automatic cancellation of the reservation. Amounts already received will be retained as damages.
Taxes. Applicable taxes are extra, including the 3.5% accommodation tax and consumption taxes. All amounts are in Canadian dollars.
Security deposit. A $1,000 deposit is required to cover breakages, excessive cleaning or any misuse of the property. If you paid by card, the deposit will be taken or pre-authorized on the day of arrival. After your stay, the deposit will be refunded or the pre-authorization lifted once the inspection is completed.
Transportation. You are responsible for having confirmed transportation to come to the Îles de la Madeleine and to travel there. No refund can be granted if travel is impossible.
Cancellation policies. The island context makes re-renting houses difficult. Our cancellation policy is therefore strict. We strongly recommend the use of a credit card with travel insurance. Cancellation fees correspond to the total amount already paid. At our discretion, we may move your dates if our schedule allows. A change fee of 25% of the total amount of the original stay applies.
2. Rental terms
The property holds a valid classification certificate issued by the CITQ, in accordance with Quebec laws.
The property is offered for resort use only. Subletting or assignment of the contract is prohibited.
Departure must be at the scheduled time. Any delay results in a penalty equivalent to the daily rate.

When you've made your choice, a few common sense tips before you send money

  • It is important to speak orally to the owner or manager of the accommodation and validate the phone number on the web.
  • Ideally, the deposit should not exceed 20 to 30% of the total rental amount
  • The balance should be paid upon delivery of the keys
  • Prefer payment by credit card (easier to cancel and / or trace)
  • If you are paying by Interac, be sure to send the money to the correct recipient.

Finally, if you receive an email from a different person or from an agency you have never contacted suggesting another chalet, be very vigilant and do not follow up if you have any doubts.
